Family Biographies
J.H. Young Fine Jewellers is a family-owned and operated business since 1900, with a trusted history in Brantford and the surrounding area. The J.H. Young brand combines luxury jewellery with personalized customer service. The Young Family and staff take pride in providing our customers with quality service and transparency.
J.H. Young Jewellers is co-owned by a four-sibling team including David, Dianne, Paul, and Graham. Each family member has completed extensive training and has grown up in the jewellery industry, making for a cohesive and cooperative team. The dedicated staff include GIA-certified Gemologists, master goldsmiths, diamond setters, and Graduate Jewellers. This allows the business to specialize not only in jewellery sales but also in custom jewellery design and repairs achieved through top-of-the-line equipment, including CAD Program, 3D printing, and laser welding machines.
David Young
The eldest sibling, with 45 years of experience as a Graduate Jeweller with a specialty in fine watches. David is an established philanthropic leader in our community who has supported many community organizations including: The Rotary Club, Landsdowne Children Center, and Crime Stoppers.
Dianne Young
A Graduate Jeweller and GIA-trained Gemologist. Dianne is the J.H. Young Jewellers financial manager, business coordinator and diamond grader. Dianne's various managerial roles within the J.H. Young Jewellers brand make her an invaluable asset to the business's success.
Paul Young
A Graduate Jeweller and GIA-trained Gemologist. Paul focuses on diamond setting, custom jewellery designs, and elaborate repair work. Paul also acts as the senior jewellery buyer, communicating with the various brands offered in store, including Gabriel & Co, Shy Creations and Simon G.
Graham Young
A Graduate Jeweller, GIA trained Gemologist, and certified in the GIA CAD/CAM for Jewellery. Graham specializes in custom jewellery design and appraisals. Of note, Graham designs custom engagement rings for the J.H. Young Jewellers exclusive brand James Robert Collection, named after their father.
Vanessa Young
The up and coming Young in the family business. As Paul Young’s daughter, Vanessa is a fifth-generation jeweller and the future of the J.H. Young Jewellers Brand. She is a Graduate Jeweller, GIA-trained diamond setter and goldsmith with years of experience as a sales associate and jeweller. She is currently studying at GIA and will soon be certified as a Gemologist. Vanessa's unique perspective and fresh ideas have brought new energy to the J.H. Young Jewellers brand. With her extensive knowledge of diamonds and gemstones, she is committed to carrying on the tradition of excellence that J.H. Young Jewellers is known for.
